I began needle felting in October of 2009 and quickly became addicted to the craft! A friend told me about Etsy and I opened a shop in January, 2010. While considering my shop name, I was inspired to use my shop and creations for charity. The Haiti earthquakes had just happened and I felt like helping that ravaged country. I chose the International Rescue Committee, a highly rated charity, to be the recipient of my donations, designated specifically for Haiti relief.

Needle felting is a time intensive craft in which wool is sculpted by using a special barbed needle. Repetitive poking of the wool with the barbed needle causes the wool to “felt” - a process during which the wool fibers become locked together. It seems as if almost anything can be made with this craft!

I love nature and life, and that love is clearly reflected in my shop ~ most of my creations are animals and flowers. I have so many ideas for things to make, but I just never have enough time!

I listed my first items in March of 2010 and since then, thru Etsy, I have sold and donated over $2,000 for Haiti relief and I have had sales to 8 different countries! Knowing that people like my items and want to buy them satisfies my creative soul, being able to help the people of Haiti thru my craft satisfies my human soul.
